Green Scene Education is a bespoke horticultural and environmental education service delivered in Primary schools teaching children practical horticultural skills, food awareness, sustainability and wildlife conservation. Our service enables schools to develop their outdoors as a learning resource and concentrates heavily on growing both edible and ornamental produce for use in school and for sale through school enterprises.
Green Scene Education is driven by a partnership of directors; Sarah-Marie Taylor and Anna Bond since June 2012; who met whilst studying FdSc Horticulture and BSc (Hons) Environmental Design at Nottingham Trent University. A wealth of experience in horticulture, teaching and horticultural therapy is shared between us along with a passion for the delivery of horticultural and environmental education.
GSE delivers environmental education services to Nottingham City Primary schools in areas of social deprivation and in time hope to support as many schools as possible in attainment of environmental learning and development. The concept of Green Scene Education was established in response to a lack of horticultural and environmental awareness being delivered in primary schools. Therefore, Green Scene Education aims to bridge that gap with a fresh and flexible approach in environmental education.
